Quiet and almost unnoticed - Baerwalde is located on the perimeter of the
tourist towns of Dresden, Meissen, and Moritzburg. It's hard to believe, in the quiet of the village, that by car it takes only 15 minutes to get to Dresden or Meissen and only 5-10 minutes to the highways A13 and A4 which lead to Berlin or Leipzig. |

The area surrounding Baerwalde offers many possibilities to enjoy and
experience nature. A 5 minute bike ride brings you to "das Blaue Loch" (the blue swimming hole), a clay pitch with wonderful soft water, excellent for swimming. 15 minutes away at the edge of a nature preserve is the "Silver pond". The area has altogether 21 smaller and larger ponds that get fed only by natural rainfall. |
